Hotel Reviews

We travel the world and include our two dogs Agador and Fred whenever possible. Traveling from point to point is not always easy, stress free, and without costs that could challenge anyone to second guess why they embarked on a holiday with fido in the first place. However, when you have made up your mind that a holiday wouldn't be well spent without your best friend at your side it's nice to find the most accommodating of accommodations upon arrival.  The recommendations that follow are solely focused on properties where we had an overall good experience. Almost all have pet restrictions and charge an additional fee per night (per pet), so we highly recommend contacting the hotel directly prior to booking.   Our summaries are are short and to the point. For further information on general topics such as amenities, cleanliness, and location as there are many current and full reviews on TripAdvisor which we have included the link in the description of each hotel and resort for further references. A collection of our photos taken at these properties can be found here: Hotel Photos

Unique, Charming, Comfortable The Hoxton
Located in a beautiful neighborhood that is convenient by foot to all the best attractions, restaurants and cafes. The bath and shower were amazing with the best in-house provided soap scents we have come across yet!  Oh, and yes, very pet friendly bar and lounge too!

Amsterdam

Value and convenience to trains at the Kimpton De Witt
The Kimpton Staff couldn't be friendlier or more willing to help. The rooms were larger than most that we found in the same price range and we were happy with the accommodations.  The location is quite touristy as it is located near central station.  If you plan on traveling by train or love to shop this location is for you.

Cordoba

Castle living with a modern twist - Hospes
If you ever wanted to be treated like the royalty in your own castle, this property has top service and they are extremely accommodating when it comes to pets. They provided us with a room that was away from most other rooms which was nice when you don't have to worry about the occasional bark or two annoying other guests. Bowls, beds, toys provided at the property. The hotel Director greeted us at the door and made sure that we were provided for in every way.  Truly 5 stars.

Granada

Feels like a Bed and Breakfast - Hospes
Small but cozy rooms in this converted Palace. We were provided a room that was away from most others. The hotel provided bowls and beds for the pups. The service was spot on and the concierge was extremely helpful with travel arrangemts when our train was cancelled.

Sevilla

Charming and convenient - Hospes
Small, cozy, old country home feeling. Even the beds that were provided for the pups were cute and comfortable looking. Bowls and countless number of toys were provided making this yet another stress free stop at Hospes Hotels.

Barcelona

Tight but manageable - Casa Bonay
City living can be tight sometimes and there was no acception at this property. Granted, they do have larger rooms than the standard one that we booked but we opted to tough it out. Overall it was acceptable and comfortable for a few nights. If you plan on staying longer I'd rethink the budget and go for the bigger room. Bowls and matts were provided for the dogs.

Sitges

Holiday Beach Hotel
This 4 star hotel is beachfront and has easy access in and out for the several walks you'll need to take each day with your dog. The rooms were a good size and the beds were comfortable but you'll need to bring your own travel bowls for food and water. This hotel was very simple yet convenient and comfortable as beach hotels go.

A solid 3+ stars for this hotel plus the dogs were quite comfortable here. We chose a room with a small balcony overlooking the plaza and restaurant. At night the noise was minimal and the pups slept nicely.

Paris

Newer Boutique Hotel
This hotel is very charming. The dogs were given bowls and beds. The area had a safe feeling even at night when it was time for the last walk of the day. We would definately stay here again.

At 3.5 stars, Pineapple Hotel is a great value for the budget concious traveler. The dogs were well received and the company does everything to make you feel at home at their property. They even have a dog mascot!

Big Sur CA

World class resortHuge rooms, great for the dogs, outdoor space and plenty of trails for hiking. The dogs were in their element here. Plus you could close the door, leave the dogs in the room and go to dinner, the pool or even the clothing optional spa. Great beds, room, property and restaurant!

Townhouse and condo living without the kitchen. This resort is a great getaway for the family and the pups. Plenty to explore without ever leaving.

West Hollywood CA

Comfort with Star Sightings - You will most likely see stars co-mingling the lobby, restaurant and bar area.  Definitely worth the stay even if you don't! Conveniently located and very comfortable beds.  The shower was like a spa which could fit 4... just saying. This hotel even has their own dog as a mascots Winston and Churchill!

Huntington Beach CA

Palo Alto CA

You will never be disappointed at Four Seasons
A Four Seasons chef will cook your pup a gourmet meal if requested. It is one of our favorite places to stay. The dogs receive bowls, beds, snacks and toys upon arrival. They even have a restaurant with an outdoor area that is dog friendly so you never have to leave your dog alone.

Austin TX

Austin loves dogs
Heading to Austin? This hotel is in a very convenient location as well as very dog friendly. If you want to relax and hang in the lounge or outdoor restaurant, you will love this hotel.

Washington DC

Embassy Row
DC is a very dog friendly town. Although you can't take your pup to most tourist destinations, you can get some great shots outside of the many monuments and historic buildings. This hotel, like most, has a pet charge in addition to parking and breakfast, so you can quickly add to your daily rate. I suggest getting all the information and negotiating the final price prior to booking directly with the hotel.

Provincetown MA

Bed & Breakfast Vibe
If your dog is a yapper, this may not be the place for you. Most of the pet friendly hotels in PTown tend to have thin walls and enjoy later night peace and quiet. Our pups adjust well and were made to feel at home.

Nantucket MA

Quiet Island Living
Relax at this charming collection of charming properties. We stayed at The Veranda House. The staff was super friendly and accommodating. Our bed and pillows felt brand new and extremely comfortable.  The hotel was spotless and they offer a lot of little extras to make your stay with pets go smoothly. Cheers to John the manager for a property well done.  Also check out the dining at Island Kitchen!  Its worth the walk or short uber ride.

Bethany Beach DE

Ocean Front Suites
Bethany Beach Ocean Suites Residence Inn by Marriott

Enjoy oceanfront sounds and breezes in this very pet friendly hotel. We loved the on suite kitchen to prepare all of Agador and Fred's meals (and some of our own). The rooms were spotless and the management very accommodating and friendly. The on-site restaurant, 99 Sea Level, has a daily continental breakfast but you must try their dinner menu and specialty cocktails! Delicious!  The beaches are super clean and welcoming.  The small town has lots to offer, especially great ice cream and lots of good food spots. You will be sure to enjoy this quiet beach retreat.
